Dr James Pager - Oro Valley - Tucson - general dentist

Dr. Douglas B. Gilliam opened the practice on Oracle Road in 1996.  When he decided to retire, Dr. Gilliam, after searching for someone who shared his philosophy of dental care, he sold the practice to Dr. James Pager in March 2019.  Dr. Gilliam's staff,  who have been with him for many years, are now working with Dr. Pager and happy to be able to continue to serve their great patients.

I feel fortunate to be part of such a great profession. I enjoy being able to help patients with their oral health, providing recommendations and treatment I would offer my own family members.

I have been practicing since completing dental school in 2012. It’s rewarding to work in a state-of-the-art dental office that uses advanced technologies along with personalized care. We have a positive, upbeat environment and our team is friendly, listens to our patients’ needs, and cares about each person’s overall health.

It’s a good feeling to wake each morning and look forward to coming to the office!

Doctorate of Dental Medicine, Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ

Dr. Pager regularly participates in continuing education in order to stay current on the latest trends in dentistry. By ensuring he’s educated in new techniques, technologies, and research, he’s able to offer the best treatment for his patients. Throughout the year, he attends conferences, lectures, and seminars, and studies relevant journals and other professional publications.

Personnel Life

Originally from Gilbert, AZ, Dr. Pager has lived in Tucson for several years. He has a wonderful family: he and his wife, who’s a Tucson native, have a young daughter who keeps them on their toes. Time with his family is Dr. Pager’s top priority outside of work. He also enjoys family hikes, biking and running, and playing the piano.

Additionally, Dr. Pager enjoys participating in numerous community service projects, both dental and non-dental.

Darlene graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Pima Community College.  She has worked in the dental field for 34 years as an assistant and as an office manager.

I was born and raised in Tucson.

I really have enjoyed working in all aspects of the dental field, especially with all of our great patients and our super dental team!   Our office is a very comfortable place to visit, and the dental care we provide here is outstanding.  You are family when you come here to see us. Kristin grew up in Wisconsin and moved to Tucson in the 1980s.  She graduated and received her Dental Hygiene license from Pima College in 1996.  She has been practicing dental hygiene for many years and enjoys her profession.

I have been given the wonderful opportunity to work along side with Dr Pager and his exceptional staff.  The office truly treats you like family.  I sincerely care for my patients and I am committed to educating my patients and providing them excellence in oral health care to maintain their smile.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I have two wonderful daughters that keep my husband and I very busy.  We enjoy being outdoors, snow skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, traveling, and watching our girls compete in volleyball.

I grew up in Orange County, California. I moved to Eugene, Oregon, in 2016 and moved to Tucson in 2018. I became a Dental Assistant in 2002, a Registered Dental Assistant in 2006 and a Registered Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions in 2008. 

I have been so lucky to work with Dr. Pager, Darlene and Kristin. They are wonderful people to learn from. Treating all of our patients with respect and kindness is my priority. I keep in mind that a lot of our patients have a tremendous fear of coming to the dentist. My additional priority is to make them feel as comfortable as possible.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three boys.

We enjoy watching movies and cooking.
